Summary of My Positions Regarding Firearms and the Second Amendment

We didn't let the British take our guns, don't ever let anybody take yours. Never forget the "gun control policies" of Mao, Hitler. Pol Pot, and Castro.

All United States citizens age 21 and older should be allowed to bear and carry firearms. They should undergo full background checks and training as the State of Texas currently provides. They should be rescreened and tested every five years to ensure that they are competent mentally and physically to carry a firearm. If any state issues a carry permit to a qualified individual, then that individual must be allowed to have that right to stay with him or her when they cross state lines. Think of it as the full faith and credit of the States, just as we all recognize each other’s state driver’s licenses. Currently only about 30 states allow licensed Texans to also carry firearms in their states. We in turn recognize the carry permits of Americans from every state. This seems unfair on the surface and needs to be examined.
I am a proud member of the NRA (National Rifle Association) and I shall remain a member until the day I die. I have yet to find a position taken by the NRA that I disagree with.
Any illegal alien caught with a firearm should be sentenced to not less than five years in jail, and then deported along with his or her family (if they can be located and they are also illegal aliens). Family members of criminal illegal aliens would go to the front of the deportation list.
Any illegal alien committing a crime while in possession of a firearm must automatically be sentenced to not less than 15 years in jail and then deported. If his family members are also illegal aliens, they would also be deported immediately.
